20 More Years of Limp Bizkit? Probably

I'm sorry, I read the above blurb at Consequence of Sound, at least, 20 times. Limp Bizkit was the band that people loved to hate. But I always liked Wes Borland, I liked the musical chances that he took outside of Limp Bizkit.
But I'm not a Limp Bizkit fan. I remember standing in the hot sun and watching the band perform on the small stage at Warped Tour 97. I was a fan of DJ Lethal and wanted to check out his "new" band.
I was not impressed and was glad I would never hear from the Bizkits again.
Editor's Note: I was so, so wrong.
In 1999, Limp Bizkit broke into the mainstream with their single Nookie.
I was not impressed and was glad I would never hear from the band again. I was convinced that they were a one-hit wonder.
Editor's Note II: I was so, so wrong...again.
Almost 30 years later, Limp Bizkit are still staples on the summer concert circuit. With over 21 singles in their discography, that's plenty of material to maintain them as festival headliners for as long as they want to do it.
Now don't get me wrong, the death of bassist, and co-founder, Sam Rivers, hurt the band, but as long as Fred Durst is alive, it is conceivable that we've got 20 more years of Limp Bizkit ahead of us. Wes Borland has quit the band 3 times, and come back 3 times, and that didn't kill the band.
You think I'm a jerk and should jump on the Limp Bizkit bandwagon?
Listen, a lot of the bands' peers are dead. It doesn't matter what I think of them, I'm just stunned that the band could, potentially, have a FIFTY year shelf life.
You think I'm wrong, and eventually Limp Bizkit will go away? Don't bet on it.
This is the cover of Rolling Stone TODAY!
Neil Young's Age? He's 80 and going full steam ahead.
Kanye's Age? 48. He wrote an album praising Hitler....LAST YEAR. Somehow he's still around. He'll probably outlive you and me.
Courtney Love's Age? 61. (And that's a hard 61). She's out promoting her Documentary, with new music to follow.
Bruce Springsteen's Age? 76. That guy is ageless.
The Limp Bizkit guys are in their mid-50s, I mean, as long as people keep showing up, what's on the horizon to stop them?
