At Yahoo!, I saw a story about the Salton Sea: Salton Sea is emitting foul-smelling hydrogen sulfide gas, triggering health concerns.
I'm no expert on the Salton Sea, but I vaguely remember 60 Minutes doing a story on the Salton Sea a few years back. The scenery reminded me of a cross between a Mad Max movie and a scorching hot version of a Salt Lake: 60 Minutes Overtime 'Lithium Valley' may provide California with its next gold rush!
With the 2 previous headlines still fresh in my mind, would I want to live along the Salton Sea? Hell no, I think there may be cancer in the air there.
But I've been wrong before, so I took Google Maps to take a look around, maybe see something nicer than what I remember on CBS. Nope. Post-Apocalyptic wasteland. But then, lo and behold:
The Dead Sea Scrolls!!!
Wow, that is really....unexpected.
I'm not sure what to think of any of this.
