Someone with an axe to grind released those Gruden emails. Since the news broke, it has been reported that 650,000 emails had been reviewed in relation to the investigation into the Washington Football Team.
Roger Goodell specifically wants Gruden to be the scapegoat or else the NFL would release all the emails. If all emails were released, his league would burn to the ground.
