Maybe Deafness Isn't So Bad

So for the past 2 years, my hearing was in drastic freefall. My hearing was so bad, I had to get a cochlear implant.

Now I am grateful to have conversations with family members and co-workers again, but music is ruined. I am not telling you any secrets, everything sounds like chipmunks and robots, but everything I researched before the surgery warned me that music would be ruined, but in softer, coded language.

Today I asked my wife, "I wish I could hear the new Mike Patton/Avett Brothers Project, but it sounds really bad. Is it really bad?"

Her reply? "It is really bad."

"I love Nine Inch Nails, but this doesn't sound good either. Is this any good?"

She shook her head no. "You would hate it."

I really enjoy Dev Lemons' shorts. "Is her music any good?"

"You're kidding me right?" Was her reply.

New GWAR?

"GWAR was never up my alley, but I can tell that you liked the video." It was a really good video, almost like a Troma Short Film.

"Well, what music am I missing?" I asked.

She said twentyonepilots.

"twentyonepilots?" I'll take her word for it.

Maybe I'll just keep replaying my own personal hits in my head. For now, that still kind of works:

Addendum: 1 day later

See, not only do I love GWAR, but the Drudge Report loves GWAR.

For those filled with outrage, GWAR has had the same schtick for 30 years.

Another reason to share one of my favorite songs ever?

I'LL TAKE IT!!!
