My Evening at Panera

On Friday, May 1, I was due to get off work at 5:00 PM sharp, which doesn't always happen.
My wife gave me 3 restaurants to chose from to pick up dinner because she didn't want to leave the house. Of the 3 options, I chose Panera. She paid and texted her order at 4:47 for a 5:07 pickup. She said the only caveat for the order was that Panera was out of bread, so everyone got chips for the sides.
My order: Half mac and cheese - Half turkey sandwich.
My kid ordered a full sandwich and a lemonade.
My wife ordered Broccoli Soup and a half sandwich.
I got to the drive thru window at exactly 5:07, said I was there for a mobile order.
I reached the drive-thru window at 5:20 and the teenager handed me a small bag and a lemonade. Bag felt very light, I looked at the confirmation sticker and the kid said "I double checked it."
I pulled away and then opened the bag. Two soup containers and 3 pieces of bread. No sandwiches, no chips. Double checked the sticker to make sure what we were charged, then circled back to the drive-thru.
After waiting in line at the drive-thru, got back to the window at 5:30. Kid asked for me receipt, I handed him the receipt and the bag. He looked at the receipt and bag, then looked at the receipt and the bag again, then called his manager over, it looked like she promptly yelled at him. Then both disappeared and he handed me the corrected order at 5:37... 50 full minutes after the order was placed. No apology, no nothing, just stuck his arm out the window.
Got home, opened turkey sandwich, no toppings, just turkey and cheese. Opened mac and cheese and viola....no mac and cheese, it was chicken noodle soup. I never thought to open the to-go container.
Went to fridge, pulled out mayo and ketchup and put my own condiments on. Ate about half the chicken noodle soup, then told my wife I was going to go back to Panera to throw the rest of the soup at the wall of the building.
She said don't be stupid, I wasn't allowed to go anywhere.
Then I remembered that I have a blog.
The next day I had calmed down and decided against the blog entry.
Then this article came up on Google News:
"The location closest to me just closed down, and I think I'm getting a better understanding as to why it closed down."
"If title dictated my behavior, as a clerk serving the public, I wouldn't be allowed to spit water at that guy. But I did. So, my point is that people dictate their own behavior."
Whenever I would bitch about something at my previous employer, my old boss at Iron Mountain would counter "you ever consider that other person had a bad day?"
You ever think I had a bad fucking day?
