Back on September 12, 2021, cleveland.com's 7 top writers unanimously predicted a winning season for the Cleveland Browns. You see those predictions? Why in the world would jaded bastard Fred Hunt take a screen shot of their predictions?
Those writers ignored the pull of history. Everyone predicted the AFC Championship or Bust. But let me ask you, the faithful reader, a trivia question: When was the last time the Cleveland Browns last achieved back-to-back winning seasons?
tick tock, tick tock....
That would be back in the 1988 & 1989 seasons. For those who are bad at math, that's over 30 years ago.
And don't get me wrong, the Browns looked good in the pre-season. But as the season ends with cleveland.com's top Browns reporter embroiled in a heated public brouhaha with the team's starting quarterback, Baker Mayerfield, the 2021 season finished with an 8-9 whimper.
It's one thing for one reporter to be wrong, that's on them. When every reporter is wrong, that's on the website.
