Top 10 Songs About Cleveland
When I woke up today, I had no intent on writing this list.
None at all.
Then I got tipped off to Andy Greene at Rolling Stone's Top 10 Songs About Cleveland List. It was terrible. Let's start with the introduction:
You know what? Here's Greene's crappy list.
(10) “Pancho and Lefty,” Townes Van Zandt
(9) “Missing Cleveland,” Scott Weiland
(8) “Cleveland Is the Reason,” Kid Cudi
(7) “Cuyahoga,” R.E.M.
(6) “Cleveland Is the City,” Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
(5) “My Town,” Michael Stanley Band
(4) “The Heart of Rock and Roll,” Huey Lewis & the News
(3) “Cleveland Rocks,” Ian Hunter
(2) “Look Out Cleveland,” The Band
(1) “Burn On,” Randy Newman
You know what? Rolling Stone Sucks.
Here's our list, choose your winner at home:
(10) The Kardiac Kids by Messenger
(9) RnR Hall of Fame by The Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments
(8) Cleveland is the Reason by Kid Cudi
(7) Til I Die by Machine Gun Kelly
(6) My Town by Michael Stanley Band
(5) Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video (2nd Attempt) by Mike Polk
(4) First of the Month by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
(3) Cleveland Rocks by The Presidents of the United States of America
(2) Cleveland Polka by Mr. Gnome
(1) Cleveland Rocks by Ian Hunter
You hate both lists? 10 Years Ago, Troy Smith at cleveland.com made a Top 20 Songs About Cleveland List.
Editor's Note: I know Cleveland is the City has Cleveland in the name, but I used to be a delivery driver in Cleveland. The locals weren't singing that song, they were all singing First of the Month, talking about chillin' on E.99th and ridin' on the RTA. I guarantee you that deep in the hood, that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song was # 1 by a mile.
