Today, Jimmy Haslam and his wife, Dee, held a press conference stating that the new Brookpark, Ohio Stadium was "99.9%" going to happen.

Listen, I personally agree with local broadcaster Jeff Phelps, I don't see what the big deal is if the Cleveland Browns move from Cleveland to its closest Southern suburb, Brookpark.

I don't.

But local Browns beat reporter, Mary Kay Cabot, is convinced that the Haslams are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I am convinced that all of this is a clever ruse for the Haslams to move the Browns to:

  • Columbus - 75% chance,

  • Memphis - 10% chance.

  • San Antonio - 5% chance.

  • Oklahoma City - 5% chance.

  • Out of the Country - 5% chance.

I am tired of writing about the ineptitude of the Haslams. I think there's a greater chance that the Browns leave the area than stay.

But due to my surly attitude, I am going to post the quote and put the article in a time capsule.

Why do I keep harping on this? If the state gives the Browns $600 million toward a new stadium, who else do you think will want one? The Bengals will also want $600 million toward a new stadium.
