President Trump Deletes Racist Video From Truth Social After Outrage: That was the headline at every news agency today.
The video in question? Former President Barack Obama and his wife are portrayed as monkeys. Donald Trump really has no shame, he's a cartoon caricature of himself. He should know better, but he just doesn't.
We condemn the President's antics.
This is absurd.
This is farcical.
This is insanity.
But deeper in the headlines today, over at ESPN:
Now we enjoy the UFC, and we are impressed with the way that Dana White has grown the UFC. I have spent many a Saturday Night watching UFC Fights.
But UFC Fights on the South Lawn of the White House?
We are living Idiocracy right now. Even President Camacho doesn't approve.
(Or maybe he does?)
If you simply went back to the year 2016, when we started the Beacon of Speech blog, if we predicted White House GIF Wars and UFC on the South Lawn would be a reality in a decade, we would have been committed.
I mean, if you just slow down and think about it, public discourse has just crumbled.
