"Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that I hated the Republican Party, hated it with every fiber of my very being. You know what I could do about it? Absolutely nothing. Could I physically destroy it through domestic terrorism? Nope. There is no physical structure to vanquish the core of the GOP that would cause the party to cease to exist. Could I write a devasting series of articles that would cause its demise? Nope. Nobody cares what I have to say. No journalist could uncover any type of diabolical infrastructure that would cause the party to cease to exist....

I could not destroy the Republican Party, but Trump could."

In 2016, these Republicans all received delegate votes in the Republican Primaries:

  • Donald Trump: 1441 delegates

  • Ted Cruz: 551 delegates

  • Marco Rubio: 174 delegates

  • John Kasich: 162 delegates

  • Ben Carson: 9 delegates

  • Jeb Bush: 4 delegates

  • Rand Paul: 1 delegate

  • Mike Huckabee: 1 delegate

  • Carly Fiorina: 1 delegate

Now Ted Cruz is still a Senator and Marco Rubio is the Secretary of State, but the rest?

In 2020, these were the 10 Most Powerful Republicans according to AI:

  • 1. Donald Trump: The 45th President of the United States.

  • 2. Mitch McConnell: Senate Majority Leader.

  • 3. Mike Pence: Vice President.

  • 4. Kevin McCarthy: House Minority Leader.

  • 5. William P. Barr: U.S. Attorney General.

  • 6. Ron DeSantis: Governor of Florida.

  • 7. Lindsey Graham: Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

  • 8. Ted Cruz: U.S. Senator from Texas.

  • 9. Nikki Haley: Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

  • 10. Greg Abbott: Governor of Texas.

And then I asked AI the same exact question, but instead of a year, I entered this caveat - This Morning

  • 1. Donald Trump - The 47th President of the United States,

  • 2. Mike Johnson - The Speaker of the House.

  • 3. John Thune - The Senate Majority Leader.

  • 4. JD Vance - The Vice President of the United States.

  • 5. Steve Scalise - The House Majority Leader

  • 6. John Barrasso - The Senate Majority Whip

  • 7. Ron DeSantis - The Governor of Florida.

  • 8. Greg Abbott - The Governor of Texas.

  • 9. Tom Emmer - The House Majority Whip.

  • 10. Tom Cotton - The Senate Republican Conference Chairman.

With the death of Lindsey Graham, and the (probable) death of Mitch McConnell, I see a lot of names that have disappeared into the ether. With the exception of Red Strongholds in Texas and Florida, a lot of the Republican Leadership has been gutted, left with Trumpie Yes-Men.

Why does that matter? Trump is gone in 2028. Trump's vague populism will leave a huge void in the GOP message during the next presidential cycle. Does the party embrace Conservatism, or the relative Moderation of Bush-Style GOP-ism?

And don't forget, there is a small, but angry, beehive of Libertarianism that keeps screaming "less government."

Again, we remind the reader that we are a Libertarian-leaning website. If Thomas Massie went Libertarian and miraculously garnered more votes than the Republicans in 2028, that fall of the Republicans would be 100% Donald Trump's Fault.

From the Grave:

And, very sorry for the Conspiracy Theory, but 2 weeks ago, it APPEARS that Ukraine tried to assassinate Billionaire Vadym Yermolaiev, his mistress, and one of his kids in Monaco. The attempted assassin, Anastasiia Berezovska, was then assassinated herself by two men. Those 2 men were quickly apprehended, but now their stories are evolving.

It is not outside the realm of possibility that Lindsey Graham was given an unknown chemical or biological agent before returning from his Ukraine visit, that caused his heart attack. You don't know Graham's message on behalf of the U.S. Government.

Graham's widow, or widower, should order a full autopsy.

Immediate Addendum: Apparently I'm not the only one thinking that way.
