When I was a kid, I believe I saw the movie Paddle to the Sea as a 6 year old in first grade.
And again in second grade.
And possible one more time in third grade.
But at the end of third grade, Star Wars came out and I don't think I've revisited Paddle to the Sea until this week.
It's funny how the human brain works....
Come to find out Paddle to the Sea, the movie, was nominated for an Oscar in 1966 in the Short Film category and the source material, Paddle to the Sea, the book, was nominated for a Caldecott Medal in Literature in 1942.
