Rex Huppke: Modern Socialist

Back in 2019, Liberal writer Michael Tomasky wrote this 'amazing' piece (Joe Biden is) Roadkill If He Stays in the Middle Lane.
Tomasky's angle? No "moderate" could win for the Democrats. If they wanted to win the 2020 Presidential Election, they had to nominate Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, those two candidates energized the base.
Seven years later, the USA Today's Rex Huppke has nearly the identical message: No "moderate" can win for the Democrats 2028, they need to nominate Zohran Mamdani or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, those two candidates, who are socialists, energize the base.
How about this? Rex Huppke, master of sarcasm, and his ilk, should break away from those pesky moderates and form their own party. Since they champion Socialist ideas, they can re-name themselves something simple, like Modern Socialists.
Then, when they run embracing what they believe in, and get 3% of the vote, hopefully they'll tuck their tails between their legs and all go away---
What's up my rear? We are a Libertarian-leaning website tired of people trying to change the Republican Party from the inside. (We are looking at Rand Paul.) I hope Thomas Massie runs Libertarian and defeats the Republicans from the outside in 2028.
If Huppke really believed in what he wrote, he'd encourage a Modern Socialist Party.
Your party lost to Donald Trump TWICE because they lurched too far to the left.
If Huppke wants a Socialist to win under the Democrat banner, he better start writing about how great Massie is and pray Republicans and Libertarians split the vote.
Because that's the only way Bernie Sand - Oops - I mean Zohran Mamdani, wins in 2028.
