The New American Crusades

Every single news website that I visited this weekend had 2 recurring themes:

FASCISM IS HERE!

or

FREE SPEECH UNDER ATTACK!

Let's address both separately, because one statement is true and one statement is false.

FASCISM IS HERE! - (FALSE) - So you hate Donald Trump, do you? I'm not particularly fond of him myself. So we agree? Uh....no.

If Donald Trump were a TRUE fascist, this is what would have happened on January 6th, 2021: Citizens would have gathered around the Capitol and Trump's allies in the armed forces would have mobilized the tanks. The Army and Trump would have taken the Capitol by force and suspended the Democrat Party, then made it illegal. Trump would have followed that up by burning the Constitution and re-writing it with sympathetic lawmakers. Joe Biden would have died in prison.

Did any of that happen? Of course not. When Trump lost, he and his supporters threw a giant sized temper tantrum, then regrouped for 2024.

In the 2010's, when Defunding the Police and Trans Rights went from being the very fringe of left-wing talking points, to the mainstream, the country had lurched too far to the Left. What you are seeing now is a very dramatic shift back to the Right. When Donald Trump became head of the Republican Party, he asked the party to kiss the ring, and they mostly capitulated. Now Trump wants all Americans to kiss the ring, and the Left is howling in defeat. Trump is about creating winners and losers, not implementing fascism. I could make the argument that America has turned into a life-sized version of The Apprentice. At his core, Trump is a Populist, but as a WWE Hall of Famer (look it up), he wants to fight. The Left attacks him, he attacks back. It is really that simple.

How am I so certain Donald Trump isn't a fascist? Because he losses in court way, WAY too much. True fascists make judges, no, entire courts, disappear.

FREE SPEECH UNDER ATTACK! - (TRUE) - How can I laugh when Jimmy Kimmel gets banned? And then re-instated? (Kind of). Because as a young man, Jimmy Kimmel starred in the Comedy Central hit "The Man Show." By many on the Left, it was dismissed as Sophomoric, at best, and misogynistic, at worst.

Now that Kimmel's style of comedy suits Leftist Talking points, Democrats are aghast and, all of a sudden, they decry Free Speech is under attack.

Free speech is something ALL Americans should enjoy. Donald Trump has free speech, Jimmy Kimmel has free speech, we used to respect each others' differences. Now each side wants to "win" the culture wars.

The Left attacks speech it doesn't like, the Right attacks speech it doesn't like, and Donald Trump attacks speech that attacks him.

Why do I keep saying Right and Left? Because a long time ago, we used to be Americans first.

Now? No one champions free speech itself.

We claim to be a free speech website, but half the time we're whining about the mental patients that run the Cleveland Browns, and the other part of the time we're making obscure musical lists. We are very unfocused. Free Speech here mostly means my free speech, and, to a lesser extent, co-founder Ted's free speech.

And right now, my tongue is firmly implanted in my cheek, but people need to know that the real war isn't free speech, but amplifying speech. We are VERY grateful to our friends at Whatfinger for picking up some of our articles. A good article can go from a couple dozen hits to thousands.

What do I mean by amplification? Let me ask you, where do you think the Spiritual home of the LGBT Movement is? I would argue that it is in America. Where do you think the Spiritual home of Christianity is right now? I would argue it is in central Europe.

When Donald Trump took office, I remember Elon Musk waving the chainsaw in the air, but the DOGE didn't actually trim that much money from the budget. What they mostly shaved off were things Trump/Musk didn't like, then Trump gave money to entities that he did like. That net gain of zero (at best), broke up the Trump/Musk Bromance. Yet as I went through the items they trimmed, it was literal drops in the bucket, like hundreds of thousands of dollars to Bolivian Gay Rights initiatives. Both Trump and Musk wanted the government out of the LGBT Business. Their attitude was that you have the right to exist, you don't have the right to have the government amplify your fringe views, in this country or abroad. That continues to drive the Left crazy, because they were subsidizing speech that they liked, and then exporting their brand of free speech, not the concept of free speech itself.

The Left subsidized the amplification of fringe speech from "the Squad" and the Defund the Police Movement. When George Floyd was killed, the Left exported kneeling at sporting events all the way to Europe. The American Left tried, to varying degrees, to get European Sports teams to wear rainbow patches on their uniforms. There should never be a Rainbow Flag or a Christian Flag on an American government building. U.S. Flag, State Flag, then Local Flag only, if applicable.

Rainbow Flag at your house? Fine with me. Vatican Flag at you house? That's fine too. The Gay Vatican Flag? Uh.... I guess??

Our argument was that left-wing talking points shouldn't be mandated by governments, businesses, or sports leagues. Not because we were against the LGBT movement, but because Christians, for example, were going to want to evangelize their faith, too. The LGBT movement tried to frame the core of Christianity as hate speech to stop them from exploiting the same avenues of propagandization that they were using.

No one from the government or local authorities have ever tried to shut our Libertarian website down, not one entity.

In Russia, I would be dead or in jail.

In America, I am free to be ignored.

In the year 2025, we are in the New American Crusades. The LGBT Movement doesn't want to be pushed back into the underground and the Right is fighting to become the spiritual home of Christianity as Europe descends into paganism.

Russia, China, and India don't want Free Speech to work in the USA, because their leaders don't want it to work in their countries.

If America works correctly, free speech is for everyone and the government doesn't overamplify speech it prefers. I respect your speech and you respect my speech. We shouldn't "export" our brand of free speech to other countries, depending on who our leaders are, other countries should want to be like us and pressure their own leaders for free speech liberties.

There is a difference between having Free Speech and being a Gay Utopia.

Or being the New Vatican.
