I came across this list on Facebook and thought to myself, "this isn't a terrible list....
Then I thought for a few minutes and said to myself, "wait a minute, this is a terrible list."
I am going to be slow and methodical.
First of all, why was Forbes Magazine coming out with the list of Top Rock Bands of all time? Is the list based off of money generated or albums sold? Nope, strictly on quality.
We are huge fans of Punk and Metal. With that being said, the category is Top Rock Bands, so we removed Black Sabbath (Metal), Metallica (Metal), and the Clash (Punk).
Jimi Hendrix only put out one album. For this list of Top Rock Bands, the band in question had to put out, at least, 3 albums.
So with that being said, here's Beacon of Speech's list:
I missed your favorite band?
No, I didn't.
I was me-tic-u-lous.
Oingo Boingo higher than Nirvana? If you listen to Oingo Boingo's Farewell Concert in 1996, they had more good songs than Nirvana's thin discography.
King Gizzard? They are the best Rock Band, right now, in their prime.
No Journey? I have said this in the blog, at least, a dozen times. Journey is the most overrated band in history. They have 2 or 3 good songs, and about 25 that make you want to hang yourself.
You think my list sucks? The assignment was harder than it appeared.
