Watch 20 Days in Mariupol

20 Days in Mariupol may turn out to be the most important document of the 21st Century.

Putin said he wasn't targeting civilians during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Pulitzer Winner Mstyslav Chernov showed that he was.

Putin said the Russians would be welcomed as liberators, Chernov showed that they were not.

Putin said there would be evacuations of non-combatants, Chernov showed that they were blocked at almost every turn.

After the Russians swept through Mariupol, one confused citizen screamed "who is bombing us?"

Chernov's team risked their lives and had many close calls to bring the world the truth, while Putin accused the West of hiring "actors."

No set could be constructed to show the level of destruction shown by Chernov.

Warning: 20 Days in Mariupol is a hard watch.

It is upsetting, but you must watch it.

I would make students watch it in History Class as a prime example of how history is fluid depending on the sourcing and what you are willing to sacrifice to show the truth.

I watched it on YouTube for free, but I think you can also watch it at PBS.
