When Dennis Hopper died in 2010, the world mourned.
And don't get me wrong, Dennis Hopper was a great actor. But by the end of a day of tributes when Hopper passed, including many "gone to soons," all I could think of was "gone too soon? That dude was lucky to live to 30."

Reservoir Dogs was, arguably, the second* greatest independent film of all time, and many of Madsen's tributes included iconic footage from the movie.
But Madsen went on to make 200 more films. Since the year 2010, Madsen was still logging over a dozen films a year, ranging from utterly unwatchable to terrible.
Because I'm a little bit of a Tubi addict, I would shake my head every time I tripped over one of his straight-to-streaming releases and wonder aloud "what the hell is Michael Madsen doing?"
Now Madsen prided himself as a working actor, but he looked, and sounded, uh....
let's say really rough.
It's one thing to be a working actor, it's quite another to not be financially able to retire.
Listen, it's not my job to speculate about someone else's private life-
You know what? I really liked Michael Madsen.
Article over.
*Greatest independent film?
Clerks.
