Best and Worst of 2017

Fred

Best: Rick and Morty Season 3

One of the few things that me and pop culture agree on is how great the show Rick and Morty is. Hopefully they keep churning 'em out and that bastard Chevy Chase wasn't right about Dan Harmon (and his impending death).

Best Video & Band Name & Song Combo

There may be better albums, there may be better songs, there may be better videos,

BUT THERE IS NO MORE AWESOME SONG AND VIDEO COMBO in 2017 THAN

DEATH BY UNGA BUNGA'S INTO THE NIGHT !!!

Ducks

Every day we drive by a creek full of ducks on the way home from school and a kid on the back of the bus screams "look at all those chickens." Every day I laugh.

Worst: Stupid U.S. Mens Soccer Team

When the U.S. Men's Soccer Team lost to Trinidad and Tobago, thusly getting eliminated from the 2018 World Cup, I don't remember feeling so upset since Joe Table mucked up the 97 World Series.

(Yeah, I know, it's Jose Mesa. My friends called him Joe Table. Who "my friends" are is a long story and would implicate many innocent people who populated the Flats in the 1990's.)

Editors Note: Due to logistical problems with all involved, the article wasn't finished until after Episode #75 was recorded on January 7,2017.

Ted

Best: The Stock Market

The Stock Market hit 20,000 on January 25, 2017 and raced past 25,000 on January 4, 2018.

Worst: The Walking Dead

"You notice once Negan killed Glenn, The Walking Dead wasn't good anymore?

Despite Glenn 'dying' in 2016, the Walking Dead is now in a sharp decline.

Joe

Best: "You should see my 401K."

  • Moved from a Condo Cluster to the joys of home ownership. We are going to re-visit if this is still one of the best things to happen to Joe going into 2019.

  • "I know it's an old show, but you should binge watch Boardwalk Empire." Boardwalk Empire ran from 2010-2014. I believe Joe watched the series on Amazon Prime.

Worst:

Personal Issues unrelated to Beacon of Speech.
