There are 9 movies nominated for Best Film in 2018. Here's my interest level in watching any one of them based on their trailers:
Call Me By Your Name - Zero. Looks horrible.
Darkest Hour - I kind of want to see it, if nothing else was on.
Dunkirk - I can read a history book.
Get Out - I watched it already. It was overrated.
Lady Bird - If my wife watches it, I will watch it.
Phantom Thread - No. No, no, no, no, no, no.
The Post - Meryl Streep? I'd rather buy life insurance.
The Shape of Water - Maybe.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri - I like Frances McDormand. This is probably the only one of the 8 that I haven't seen that I'm interested in.
The Best Movie I watched last year?
Probably I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore on Netflix.
Beacon of Speech and What Culture agree.
But I do like movies. I went back and looked at the 2017 Oscar list and was similarly underwhelmed. Here's what's on my Wants to See movie list on Rotten Tomatoes.
Dude Pro Party Massacre III
Bomb City
The Death of Stalin
Lowlife
My Friend Dahmer
Saturday Morning Massacre
Hardcore Henry
Sorry to Bother You
I can't find the Trailer anywhere. Will replace poster when I find it.
The Lords of Chaos
I will substitute the Trailer here when it comes out. I want to see this movie based on the book.
