While scrolling through Facebook Reels, a post from Steve Holcomb caught my attention:
'In 1953 the "Rosenbergs" were executed for stealing American Nuclear Secrets and giving them to the "Russians."
What's weird is that Russia already had the nuclear bomb - but Israel didn't - until soon after their espionage.'
We posted the original historical photo, Steve Holcomb posted the photo with blue Star of Davids on the couples' forehead.
Why is shit like this coming up on my feed? Apparently, a relative liked the post and Facebook thought I would like it too.
For the record, we are Pro-Israel at Beacon of Speech. I cannot delineate this clear enough: Israel has a right to exist, Iran has a right to exist. Hezbollah and Hamas are simply guerrilla groups funded by Iran, they do not have the right to exist. There should be a 2 state solution...as soon as Palestine accepts Israel's right to exist and expels Hezbollah and Hamas from within their borders.
From CNN: "Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is actively trying to push Hezbollah out of its powerful military and political position. He has publicly called Hezbollah's war with Israel "futile" and accused Iran of using Lebanon as a bargaining chip against the wishes of the Lebanese people."
You want to tell me about the plight of the Gazans? Oh, Israel is by no means the innocent victim this time around, there's plenty of dirty tricks to go around on both sides.
But back to the Reel, if you did even a cursory amount of research, you'd know that the Rosenbergs, with their very Jewish-sounding names, had absolutely ZERO to do with the Israeli Nuclear Program. Their timelines don't match at all.
After the Soviet Union collapsed, THEIR documents revealed that "the KGB considered Julius Rosenberg an effective agent and Ethel a supporter of his work." Julius was active as a spy as early as 1942. his execution was over a DECADE after his first espionage work. You can argue that America shouldn't have executed Ethel, what her exact support entailed is still debated today, but Julius was 100% guilty of being a Soviet Spy.
Israel's first (speculated) nuclear test was in 1966, 16 years after the Rosenberg's arrest.
This was the quote from Israel's First Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion "What Einstein, Oppenheimer, and Teller, the three of them are Jews, made for the United States, could also be done by scientists in Israel, for their own people." Gurion was out of office by 1953 and had plenty of smart Jewish Scientists within his own borders.
There are absolutely no links between the Rosenbergs and the Israeli Nuclear Program.
What Steve Holcomb is doing is selling antisemitism. The subtext being that the Rosenbergs weren't really Russian Spies, but Israeli Spies. He is trying to establish an 80 year link of Israel spying on America.

While the author of the Reel looks EXACTLY like the guy at the end of my street.
