Working Title: Two Pet Peeves, Mixed Into One Nauseating Flavor
In the last 2 days, I have seen, at minimum, 6 different ads for this new Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream flavor.
I am not going to try the Change the Whirled Ice Cream, not because of its politics, but because it doesn't sound like something I would like.
Let me be clear though, I do not like Colin Kaepernick:
And, I believe, Ben and Jerry's has been running an ice cream based scam for the last 20 years:
So, of course, Ben, Jerry, and Colin, all got together and danced around the maypole, singing songs of a Leftist Utopia.
But Ben, Jerry, and Colin aren't real leftists, they are capitalists that also sell their liberalism.
Not unlike Rage Against the Machine.
But here's the difference, I like my ice cream and sports to be neutral.
Either your ice cream is good, or it isn't.
Either your sports team is good, or it isn't.
In art, I WANT to hear your opinion. Great art is steeped in observation mixed with rage.
You want to know my favorite place to currently eat ice cream is? Dairy Queen.
Nothing but love for Daily Queen. We have a local owner/operator that I see behind the counter often. I have no idea what his politics are, but he seems like a good dude.
What's so good about Menchies? Let me describe it to you.
You put the soft serve in a bowl, then cover the ice cream in candies, fruits, and nuts, in a salad bar-type format.
Why did I rarely take my family to Menchies? Because for a Family of Four, it cost more than a family meal. (So I secretly went to Menchies alone.)
The point is, if Menchies marketed my favorite concoction: Fred's Diabetic Coma in a Pint, I would eat it.
Let's see, my toppings would be:
Andes Mints
Bursting Boba
Cheesecake Pieces
Cookie Dough
Raspberries
Frosted Animal Cookies
Gummi Bear Cubs
Rainbow Sprinkles
Reese's Mini Pieces
Waffle Chips
Wait, wait, I can't decide if I want the Kit Kat bites or the Bananas---
Maybe the Sour Patch Kids, depends on what flavors----
We are so off track here.
Addendum 4 hours later: A reader just let me know that this ice cream is not new.
Then why in the hell did it keep showing up on my Facebook Feed as an ad?
