CNN Loves Itself Some CNN

Surprised to see this story over at CNN:

I want to be clear, the story above is 100% accurate, my problem is with the choice of the story.

If you are an American, there is nowhere in Israel you can't go.

If you are an American, you are not welcome in Iran. You cannot go anywhere without the state's permission.

But, coincidentally, the "Iranian State," at least what's left of it, is hiding under their desks in Oman.

Did the interim Iranian government let CNN see bombed out mosques, neighborhoods, or government buildings? No. Some important person in the Iranian State Media saw CNN as a sympathetic ally.

Why would the Iranian State Media think of CNN as a professional peer? Oh, you know the answer to that.

The subtext is: CNN could be next.

Being a journalist is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world....

If you live in Russia....

Or Mexico....

Or an independent journalist in Iran.

But when Joe Biden was president, CNN existed within the same charmed status as their Iranian brethren. In the old days, that was just "reckless speculation" by Beacon of Speech. Then Jake Tapper admitted that CNN purposely let Joe Biden off the hook in the waning days of his presidency.

Now that Donald Trump is president, though, CNN finds itself under "attack" just like the poor propagandists in Tehran.

No journalism job in America is unsafe. What happens in America is journalistic entities fall in and out of favor with the administration. Chris Quinn at cleveland.com would argue that's untrue, he gets hate mail every day.

You know who else gets hate mail every day? People who have to work with the general public. Just last month, I was threatened by an angry parent at my day job in the school district. I didn't even bother to report it to my superintendent, it was minor compared to other threats I had received in my position.

Why do you think people hate working with the general public so much?

If that CNN reporter above is so brave, why doesn't he walk down the streets of Tehran and ask the people what they think of their leaders hiding out in Muscat.
