Now I'm not saying I'm for lead paint, but I remember asking my Dad if lead paint was bad when I was a kid and he said "don't eat lead paint." My entire life I've known lead paint is bad (I am 57), thanks to my Dad for stepping up.

I also remember reading about Cleveland Kids getting lead poisoning as late as 2010, because they ate lead paint chips. I mean, in my head, don't eat paint (of any type) is a standard safety warning, not unlike "don't huff gasoline."

In the year 2026, I don't see how this is pertinent to everyday life. Lead paint was banned in 1978. Chris Quinn's angle is that the Sherwin-Williams' empire is built on lies.

And? Welcome to America. I could write the "built on lies" article about half the companies in the Fortune 500.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say Quinn was abandoning his usual Saturday Fireside Chats (Tripe) and is trying to win a Pulitzer.

Between the years 2018 and 2023, the Pulitzers gave out multiple prizes for reporting that dealt with the removal of Confederate Statues. It was the Left's cause célèbre. Confederate Statues had absolutely nothing to do with everyday life, it had to do with re-writing history.

Now I read parts I, II, and III from Quinn, they were detailed and impeccably researched, I have no problem with his sourcing. I didn't read parts IV or V. Not because I'm lazy-

But because they were behind a pay wall. If the conclusions of the articles were Sherwin-Williams should pay some billion dollar penalty because the paint company had internal documents that lead paint was bad all the way back in 1910, I could see that becoming the next wave of Leftist Rage.

Instead of taxing the rich, health reparations from rich corporations could be the next narrative.

What's my real problem?

I do not like Chris Quinn. He ran his newspaper into the ground and basically turned cleveland.com into Chris Quinn's Liberal Blog.

If he wins a Pulitzer, it will absolutely show that America is not about free speech, but the "right types" of free speech. (Liberals that play the game well.)

2 days after Part V, cleveland.com transcribed a podcast where Chris Quinn describes how great Chris Quinn is. I am not kidding.
