Venezuela: WE SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS

On Wednesday January 6, 2021, in live time, we declared that misguided supporters of Donald Trump were throwing a giant sized temper tantrum. CNN and the Left Wing media crowed that there was an insurrection. I was clear then, as I am clear now, that there was no insurrection. Insurrections involve tanks and helicopters, it involves generals and soldiers, it involves politicians being dragged from their beds and being led away in handcuffs.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez swears, to this day, that January 6th was an insurrection. My response is simple: Okay, if that was an insurrection, why didn't you stay in your office with your security detail and fight? Your security detail had guns, why didn't you fight the insurrectionists to the last bullet? You could have died a martyr fighting Donald Trump, not with your jibber jabber words, but with your actions.
Instead, you fled like a rat.
You know what she would say? Uh, <stammer, stammer> , uh, <mumble, mumble>..... Socialism!
Her actions and her words were judged by time, just like my writing was judged by time.
So as I was watching Donald Trump talk today on NBC NEWS, with the headlines underneath blaring: "We are going to run Venezuela," there was a real sinking feeling in my stomach.
This is bad.
Real bad.
Venezuela was run by Nicolas Maduro who, in Donald Trump's defense, is horrible and ran his country straight into the ground.
But as a Libertarian-leaning website, that's none of our business, it really isn't. There's lots of countries in this world that are run like shit.
We didn't declare war on Venezuela.
Maduro wasn't planning an invasion of America.
Maduro wasn't holding American hostages.
Maduro was just a third-world despot. There's a ton of those....in the third world. Venezuela used to be the richest country in Latin America? And I care because?
What charges do we plan on levying against Maduro? Are we taking him to the "World Court" at The Hague in Netherlands? I bet we're not.
This is the worst thing, Constitutionally, that Donald Trump has done.
If Donald Trump, at the Libertarian Convention in 2024, declared "next year, I will invade Venezuela for no (real) reason," those Libertarians would have dragged him out into the streets and beaten him with sticks.
I am not using hyperbole.
(Sarcastic) Kudos to Maduro's Security Detail.
Here's a direct quote from Beacon of Speech, at the very beginning of this article: "Insurrections involve tanks and helicopters, it involves generals and soldiers, it involves politicians being dragged from their beds and being led away in handcuffs."
It appears that Maduro's forces mostly stood down and pointed the way as to where the Americans could find the Venezuelan President.
According to the Times of Israel, "no American Soldiers were killed," with a few reported injuries. The Venezuelan Army didn't kill one American? Listen, the Americans have been buzzing around the Venezuelan shores for a month, this action should not have come as a surprise.
That Venezuelan Army either hated Maduro, or was a crappy army.
I know this isn't the time or place for levity, but at 12:30 PM sharp, as one of Donald Trump's Administration was speaking, NBC NEWS cut the feed.
They went straight to the Arsenal v Bournemouth Premier League game.
I love the Premier League, but Bournemouth is in 15th place, I would rather---
As I typed, a small scroll came up in the upper left hand corner: For updates on Venezuela, go to nbcnews.com
Special Bonus:
This reminds me of when we invaded Panama, arrested Manuel Antonio Noriega, then shuttled him from courts in America, then France, then back to Panama. Noriega died in prison in his homeland at the ripe old age of 82.
This morning's actions are NOT what Donald Trump promised his MAGA faithful.
