Another No Kings Rally this weekend?
<yawn>
For the millionth time, we are Libertarians here at Beacon of Speech. Donald Trump tried to trick us into voting for him in 2024, we didn't fall for it.
But I am so sick of "King Trump" or "Nazi Trump" rallies. Do you know we are deporting the same amount of citizens as the Biden Administration? Do you know that the incarceration rates for American citizens are actually falling in this country? We aren't building concentration camps. For the most part, the business of the United States is moving forward the same as usual, just through a different prism-
A-ha! You got me, the government is shut down!
Now Donald Trump screwed my sister at her government job in the parks system. But me? I still go to my crappy day job and eat the same crappy fast food I always eat. I am still able to buy gas to get to my crappy job and buy my crappy overpriced food at WalMart. The shutdown has not changed my life by even one second.
Donald Trump isn't even as far to the Right as Ronald Reagan, Reagan was a notorious union-breaker. Reagan fired all the air traffic controllers in 1981 and replaced them with untrained monkeys while America cheered. Now the air traffic control system is simply in choas.
In the year 2022, with gay-pride flags on every building and trans-athletes decimating women's sports record, the country had lurched to far to the Left. Google was suppressing Right-leaning speech and multi-national companies weren't hiring whites in the name of DEI. Donald Trump is now an overcorrection. But I am going to say this very slowly-
Donald.
Trump.
Is.
Not.
A. King.
The problem with Trump? The power of America is through its citizens. When the government is too strong, it picks winners and losers in the Game of Life. The Left loved it when their guy was in power, now the Right loves it when their guy is in power. You should respect your neighbor, not allow the government to pick citizens that are winners.
Are the No Kings Rallies for Libertarianism?
Uh, no.
Back in the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was going to march, come hell or high water. Nothing would stop him from his chosen mission to bring equal rights to ALL citizens no matter what color or creed.
But back in the 60's, the states turned the water cannons on peaceful protestors. The police brought out the dogs and the batons. Paddy wagons were on stand-by at every march.
In the 2020's though, protestors weren't so peaceful. During the George Floyd Riots, peaceful protests turned violent while protestors screamed "Defund the Police" at cops who weren't allowed to react. Understaffed police departments were stretched to the limit in many of America's largest cities.
So today, when hundreds of thousands of protestors, wearing their Pink Pussy Hats and mulling around like they're at an antique fair, complain about both Donald Trump and the weather, and start chanting "No Kings" while waving their clever signs in the air, turn those water cannons on.
Seriously.
I am not being glib. I am not using hyperbole.
Turn that water cannon on 78 year old Sister Anne.
What are you willing to risk injury for? If Donald Trump was a Real King, he would lay the hammer to ungrateful peasants. So now we're in a Catch-22 situation. If Donald Trump ignores you, he is respecting your free speech, making you look like a whiny idiot. You want Donald Trump to sick the dogs on you....
Or don't you?
In the year 2020, we asked: What's the Difference Between a Rioter and a Protestor?
In the year 2021, we asked: Why is the Losing Team Throwing a Temper Tantrum?
We are a free speech website that refuses to be a pawn to the Left or the Right. There is only one topic that has remotely stirred our resolution to take to the streets and that's when Cleveland State sold their college radio station to Ideastream last month.
Why would such a small event in the grand scheme of life question my resolution?
Because the Left was again suppressing real free speech in the name of promoting their brand of free speech.

My friend Anthony went to Poland in 2022 and he said it was an eye-opening experience. He stated that the citizens there were willing to die for democracy. They hated Russia, specifically Putin, and were deathly afraid that if Ukraine fell that they were next. He said the citizens of Poland were ready to fight to keep their independence, they were not Russians.
But what he said next surprised me. He said his Uncle wanted Poland to be like the United States, then paused, and said "like in 1990." They didn't want Rainbow Flags on every house and he didn't want his grandchildren getting sex change operations. He wanted "Polish Democracy," where you respected the church, or even if you were agnostic, you respected Polish Heritage and Polish Nationalism.
It wasn't Donald Trump that had gone too far, it was the "Rainbow People."
