I keep reading polls that Donald Trump is the least popular president since Jimmy Carter.
You know what? Then impeach him and remove him from office. Every single day I read how Donald Trump is a fascist. Just yesterday, I got into an argument with an idiot on Bluesky who posted the 14 Tenets of Trump's Fascism.
Pure Partisan Gibberish.
Do you know the REAL reason Trump isn't removed from office? Because he's a convenient Boogeyman for the Left. Every idiotic, or contradictory, thing that Trump does is met with this from the Democrats: Well obviously, since Trump said something stupid, that means you agree with our Transgender Initiatives that treat Religion as Hate Speech.
Uh no.
If you remove Trump from office, you get President Vance. The Left is already gearing up that Vance is the "Real Hitler."
What is happening in America today is that the Left has lurched...well, too far Left.
Where's my proof?
Listen, we're a bit delusional here at Beacon of Speech and enter the Pulitzer Contest every single year. Growing up, we loved the columns of Mike Royko, but for young people who aren't aware of the musings from Royko at the Chicago Daily News, here's an abbreviated synopsis from AI: "Mike Royko was a populist, liberal-leaning journalist for most of his career, championing the working class, but his views evolved to become more conservative and contrarian in his later years."
Mike Royko won the Pulitzer in 1972 and you can read his winning entry here:
That missive was from "Liberal" Mike Royko.
This year, in the same category, this was the winning entry from M. Gessen of the New York Times, that goes by the pronouns they/them:
Money shot? "As the Times editorial board has pointed out, Trump has undertaken a campaign to force trans people out of public life — by executive-ordering us out of existence. The Supreme Court’s decision advances that campaign significantly. The point of the executive order was not to restore “historical facts” but to enforce a gendered social hierarchy and to punish those who do not conform to it."
The (non-existent) Trans Genocide.
Why are we so sour? From last year: At our heart we are a free speech website. So with that being said, we tip our hands, yet again, and disclose our Pulitzer Entry for the upcoming year: Speech vs. Information
March 3, 2025 - What Elon Musk got Right....and WRONG about Iron Mountain
April 24, 2025 - The Library Bait and Switch
April 28, 2025 - Pope Francis' Fundamental Misinterpretation of Sex and Religion

We discussed Free Speech from a working-class point of view and didn't even make it to the Final 3. We basically lost to a reporter from the New York Times that posted a Trans Manifesto.
What does the Pulitzer have to do with John Fetterman? Fetterman is about things that Democrats USED to be about, working-class values and safety nets.
The Left hates him because he is too close to the center, not making the Defunding the Police Movement or LGBT+ Platforms his core talking points.
The Right hates him because they don't want him siphoning off the "tax the rich" portion of the Middle Class that think that the Left has gone too far.
Now that I think about it, John Fetterman sounds a lot like my Grandfather did in 1979. John Fetterman wants to win the Middle, while neither side has any interest in laying their claims there. As a matter of fact, he's the only politician off-the-top-of-my-head even TRYING to exist in that space.
What if Fetterman led a movement in the Middle that pushed the LGBT Movement on the Left, and the love of Billionaires on the Right, back to the fringes of politics? Liberals don't want to move to the center, Conservatives don't want to move to the center, but a record 45% of Americans now identify as Independents.
If you are Trans or Gay in the Middle East, you are thrown off buildings or beaten with rocks.
If you are Trans or Gay in America, you win the Pulitzer for whining about Microaggressions.
Side Note: When doctoring John Fetterman's photo from Wikipedia, I noticed that Fetterman and I share a birthday.
Not only do we have the same birthday, but the same exact date of birth, and the same style of clothes.
Not sure if that's a good or bad coincidence.
