The Overused Hitler Analogy

Once again this week, I stumbled across the Trump is Hitler Analogy.

For the 100th time, Donald Trump is not Hitler. Donald Trump is Donald Trump. In the history of the United States, for better or for worse, Trump's populism is quite unique.
In the history of the Western World, for better or for worse, few leaders have publicly stated contradictory policies against their own words as many times as Trump. Most leaders, even the most evil of dictators, have a core philosophy that guides their hand.
Who is most like Donald Trump in the annals of history? Maybe Roman Emperor Commodus?
But even THAT is a flawed analogy, Roman Emperors rarely lived beyond 30 and Trump is now on the cusp of 80.
And I keep reading that Vice President Vance is the Next Hitler.
I've also seen that Israel's Bibi Netanyahu is the Living Hitler. How so? Because Israel, which is, again, about the size of New Jersey, is still putting the thumb screws to the citizens in the Gaza Strip. The Hitler Analogy is patently absurd in the Netanyahu Case. You do know that the suburb of Cleveland, Ohio that I live in, North Ridgeville, is actually bigger than Gaza City, right?
Hamas declared war on Israel, Israel declared war on Hamas. That simple. The extent of the "war zone" in Gaza was, arguably, about 140 square miles. The "war zone" in Ukraine is currently about 50,000 square miles.
For comparison's sake, Adolf Hitler occupied 1.3 million square miles of land at the peak of World War II.
I'm not saying that "Hitler" will never exist again, I'm saying none of these guys are Hitler.
To take it one step further, I'm going to stick up for Donald Trump in a sense. At his core, he is a businessman that focuses on real estate. A few months ago, he made a strange social media post touting how Gaza would make a great resort with its prime location on the Mediterranean Sea.
But setting aside the concept that gambling would violate core tenets of Islam, Gaza could have been a nice resort area if billions went into investing in the area instead of billions going to weapons.
You know what? Back in the 1940's, Hitler united Americans against a common foe. After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, 97% of America supported war with the Axis. Who were the 3%? Isolationists and the devoutly religious that didn't support war of any type.
80 years ago, the world was either united against, or aligned with, Hitler.
Today, we Americans don't agree on anything.
If you think Donald Trump is Hitler, you are just dumb.
If you think Donald Trump is an idiot, as a Libertarian-leaning website, we'll listen to that argument.
But every time you call Trump 'Hitler', and then he does nothing, that makes YOU look like the moron.
Hitler didn't put up with your shit.
