Uncle Gary's Beast Games

Writer: Fred Fred

I used to like Mr. Beast, he had clever and cool YouTube videos. Once he hopped aboard the Amazon Train, he had the same smirk, but his content was meaner. By Episode 8, the Beast Games were giving me serious anxiety. I found myself rooting for the contestants to just burn Beast City to the ground and run away with the pile of money. THAT would have been a great reality show.

Last year, my [redacted]'s Grandfather died. He didn't have much money and his only asset that was worth anything was his house. The house was in the shadow of the Ford Factory in which he worked. The five surviving children decided to split the proceeds equally. Or so they thought.

In true Beast Games-style, the prize was a $200,000 house in a working-class suburb. As the executor, Uncle Gary decided to see how much he could jam his fellow contestants.

As the house was being cleaned out, (I am sitting on the used couch right now), no improvements were made. Everything was emptied out and stripped down to the studs, but nothing was fixed, nothing was repaired.

In theory, 200,000 divided by 5 is easy math. $40,000 for each adult-child. Not life-changing money, but a nice lump sum.

The house was placed on the market in mid-January of 2025 for $140,000. It was bought by a newly created LLC within half an hour of going up for sale. Each sibling would only get $28,000. Still not bad money, but the sale left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. Uncle Gary said he was doing everyone a favor, they didn't have to pay a realtor, they didn't have to pay a contractor to do any work. No money came out of pocket, the check was the easiest $28,000 they were all ever going to make.

Lo and behold, the LLC then, also, put no money into the property. Turned around and put the parcel up for sale at market rate, $200,000, one week after buying it. In one day, the house sold. Here were some details without giving away the location.

Final sale price? $185,000.

Why would Uncle Gary, who is in the trades, purposely sell the house at nearly $50,000 under the final sale price? That LLC made $45,000 for one week's work, basically for filing and shuffling paperwork.....

If you're a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, your question would be "Is Gary associated with the LLC?"

Ah, ah, ah. I have already aired enough dirty laundry.

I used to have a lot of respect for Uncle Gary.

You know what? Maybe I'm just upset that the Beast Games are too much like real life. Mr. Beast did give all those poor people the gift of sight after all:
