While We're Cancelling People....

About a decade ago, the Left came hard after sports mascots. From Beacon of Speech in 2017: "No matter what your opinion is on Chief Wahoo, think about this as we close. Do you know how long the list would be of things that should be banned if we based it on things we didn't like?"

I argued over and over, that the Indians Nickname and the Chief Wahoo Logo were symbols of free speech. The Left screamed RACIST and both disappeared.

Now Donald Trump and the Right are starting to ban things and the Left is literally crying "free speech." Too late. Jane Fonda is even re-starting her Dad's "free speech" organization from the 1940's.

So, before level heads eventually prevail, I want a few scalps.

I don't want any sports nicknames or mascots, I want sportswriters banned.

Today, Ryan McGee wrote an article citing the worst teams in college football. In the piece, McGee quoted Taylor Swift Lyrics....extensively. Bam! He should be banned.

Any Sportswriter that quotes Taylor Swift gets a one year ban from the media. Local Hack Aaron Goldhammer and ESPN Personality Mike Greenberg, I'm looking at you. When your leftist agenda was gleefully cancelling mascots, you never thought the tide would turn.

Now if you're Pat McAfee and want to quote Metallica, that's allowed.

We are specifically banning Left-leaning sportswriters, who wanted to ban mascots, but now scream free speech, while citing Taylor Swift.

You think that's an irrationally narrow group of writers?

When you pick winners and losers in the Culture Wars, that's what happens.

What if the sportswriter cites Katy Perry? Hmmm.....
