Earlier this week, a Turkish lawmaker gave an impassioned speech condemning Israel. At the end of his speech, he implored that "You cannot be saved from the wrath of Allah."
He spoke for about 10 more seconds, then crumpled to the ground in front of his nation's parliment.
Dead.
Now that's what I'm talking about. A few weeks ago, I was complaining about a statue in Mexico crying. I said I wanted a more active God, striking down our leaders, not parlor tricks.
Then *PRESTO* Allah comes through with a kill in the clutch.
See? Perfect!
Now I'm awful glib today and I'm afraid when I hit the PUBLISH button, God will strike me dead also, but beneath it all is a small kernal of an eternal truth. You know who sends troops off to war today? Mostly fossils that still study military tactics from World War II.
In Russia, 71 year old Vladimir Putin has been personally responsible for 300,000 casualties because he wants to vacation in a Russian Crimea.
Instead of hundreds of thousands dying, a well-placed faulty heart valve in the fragile chest of Putin could have saved thousands of lives. Only God has that power.
But you could argue: How many millions could have been saved in the 1940's with the same philosophy? Exactly!
If world leaders that propogate war kept mysteriosly falling over dead, wars would stop pretty quick.....
You know what? I was going to use Putin as a jumping off point of a long diatribe, but I have been sick all week and have been having trouble stringing thoughts together.
End of article.
